You gotta be like a F-15 Fighter Pilot

Years ago, a friend of mine (an ole’ country boy) was sharing with us about life and overcoming temptations. I’ll paraphrase what he taught me. He said you gotta be like an F-15 fighter pilot (this is before the F-22).
The F-15 pilot is highly trained, super intelligent and exceptionally skilled. The F-15 is equipped with a world class lock-down/shoot-down radar system. This radar filters out ground clutter. The F-15 also has missiles that are radar guided and fired from beyond visual range (miles away). When the F-15 pilot senses or sees the enemy on the radar they have one of two options… change course or they are EXPECTED to attack the enemy before the enemy can engage.
What a great lesson. The Holy Spirit operates as our on-board lock-down/shoot-down radar system. What is it that’s infiltrating your airspace? What is it that keeps showing up on your radar? With the Holy Spirit, you are highly trained, super intelligent, and exceptionally skilled. You can filter the ground clutter and see the temptation on your radar from miles away.
1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out".
David Pollack explains that decisions can be made long before the enemy (temptations of life) enters your visual airspace. Life can be DOGFIGHT. The enemy (temptations of life) is there to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). If you let those TEMPTATIONS get inside your visual airspace, you may have an up close and personal enemy encounter that is not easily undone.
Lastly, you need a “Wingman”. That “Wingman” is someone you trust your life with. They are a second set of eyes, a second source of strength, and a second source of firepower. They protect you and watch your back.
GOD Bless you and y’all have a great day.
