A new science called Epigenetics has discovered that EXTREME TRAUMA can be transgenerational and could be passed on for up to 4 generations. Traumatic personal, professional, cultural, and even historical events can shape generation after generation.
Trauma like Slavery, the Holocaust, 911, the Pandemic, sustained abuse, job loss, illnesses, imprisonment, natural disasters, financial loss etc… can and will drive adaptable and addictable behaviors.
We're not talking about changing our DNA, we know that that can't be done. However our DNA can be altered. DNA lives in a cell environment, and there are molecules that attach that DNA, severe trama, changes the way the molecules are shaped and that reshaping changes the way the DNA reacts. Dr. Rachel Uhuda referred to cooking a Meringue. Egg whites and sugar represent the Meringues DNA. If we make changes to the environment, maybe too much humidity, cold eggs instead of room temperature eggs, maybe it's a different time of the year. Maybe I used a hand mixer instead of a blender. All of these things are changes in the environment and it can affect the way the Meringue, (egg whites and the sugar) act or react. Transgenerational Trauma doesn't change the DNA, but it certainly alters how it works.
This is a recipe for who you are. Is this discovery… science or spirit? Meaning the Spirit of God. Transgenerational Trauma sounds eerily familiar to Generational Curses. Science says that Transgenerational Trauma can effect up to 4 generations deep. The book of Exodus says that “he (God) is a jealous God who will punish the sins of the parents on the children to the 3rd and 4th generation of those who reject him. Wow, sounds awfully close, doesn't it? But here's the good news. In the book of Deuteronomy, it says that he is a faithful God. keeping his covenant of love to a 1000 generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
You want to break that Transgenerational Trauma curse? You want to move towards a Transgenerational Expectation of Excellence? It can be done by placing your faith in a loving God. You can say “it ran in my family until it ran into me and the Lord.”
Y'all have a great day and God bless you.
