Prairie Meadows Racetrack in Iowa, to drive sales, once a year, has substituted CAMELS for HORSES With names like HUMPle Stiltskin, CAMEL Macchiato, Donald HUMP, Hubert HUMPhries, and Alexander CAMELton. These names conjure up funny images. What image does your name conjure up? When people mention your name, what goes through their heart and mind?
What’s in a name??? If you’re sending something overnight…you FedEx it, if you’re making a copy…you Xerox it. When you search for something on the internet you…GOOGLE it. These companies are the GOLD STANDARD for their industries, it’s a standard of excellence, performance, customer service, and a proven product. These names have actually become verbs. How about your name? Steve Jobs said, “Be a yardstick of excellence.” Be the standard by which others measure themselves?
In Galatians 5:22-23, it outlines the Fruits of the Spirit. They are love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.
Are these the qualities people see when they mention your name? Does your name represent a humble heart? Does your name endear people, encourage people, and exalt people?
In a world of uncertainty, your name, your brand, should represent the Kingdom of GOD as a stabilizing force that people can count on. Y’all have a great day and GOD bless you.
