Time for your SUPER BLOOM

Death Valley is famous for being not only the hottest place on earth but also, (134°F/57°C) and driest place in North America. Death Valley is no stranger to drought. However, periodically, and unpredictably Death Valley will endure an extended drought season. A drought so harsh, that it will actually kill off any surface vegetation like weeds and desert grass, leaving behind a scorched barren earth. Then to add insult to injury as the drought begins to subside, Death Valley will experience unbelievable high winds and record breaking amounts of rain. The desert then falls victim to landslides and floods which ravage the once blistered desert sand.

Isn’t that how life is sometimes both personally or professionally. We’re in a drought and the suns relentlessly beating down on us, so hot we can’t breathe.  We look for shade or shelter and there is none.  We beg for relief, we long for water, and the answer to our prayers is multiple vicious storms.  We’ve gone from being blistered in the desert to drowning in a downpour.  It seems like we have no chances of survivability.

Getting back to the desert. As the storms subside and spring comes,. something magical happens throughout the desert. It’s a miracle phenomenon that only occurs after and extended drought and excessive rain. It’s what scientists call a SUPERBLOOM.  The desert floor literally erupts with the most beautiful, vibrant and vividly colorful flowers anyone has ever seen.  The expanse of this SUPERBLOOM is so grand that its actually visible from space.  The magnificence of GOD’s hand is all over that desert and it is all over you.

You see, the seeds of greatness were buried deep in the sand, but the average rainfall would nourish the desert grasses and weeds and evaporate before it could reach the seeds.  The sun was needed to kill off the grasses and weeds which cleared a path for the water.  The abundance of water was needed to soak deep enough into the earth to start the germination process. Even then the struggle was not over.  The seeds still had to grow and push through the soil to reach their destiny.

Maybe you feel, or fear that your life or career is that same Death Valley desert. I want to assure you that just like those desert flowers you have the seeds of greatness buried down deep in your soil (your soul).  Yep, were gonna have some droughts and were gonna endure some harsh storms…Remember the heat is there to kill off the surface grass, clearing a path for the relentless rain to reach your seed.  And just like that flower, you will begin to germinate, and you will fight your way to the surface.  Your SUPERBLOOM is here and it’s your season to flourish.

Isaiah paints the picture of a scorched desert (chapter 34) – but then in (chapter 35) he anticipates how the desert will be transformed into a lush garden. That SUPERBLOOM is GOD reminding us that he is with us always, through the drought and through the storms. Y’all have a great day and GOD bless you.
