Refined like Silver, a Good Friday Story.

On April 18th will will celebrate GOOD FRIDAY. 2000 years ago, I’m not sure the Disciples and early Christians understood it to be a Good Friday? I’ll bet they thought it was a tragic Friday. In Life many times, we suffer great loss, personal tragedies and great pain. It is confusing to think that a loving FATHER would allow us to endure such pain and afflictions. I certainly don’t understand it sometimes. I do find comfort in this verse...
Psalms 66:10 “For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver.”
Silver, of course, is not a pure metal and must be refined. In the hands of a skilled craftsman, the silver is placed into the hottest part of the fire. This process is to burn away the impurities. The craftsman has to hold the silver in the middle of the flame but he NEVER takes his eyes off it. If he pulls it out too soon, it still has impurities and if he leaves it in a moment too long, it will be destroyed. So, how does the Silversmith know when to remove the silver from the flame? “That’s easy” he says, “I just wait until I can see my image in it.”
If your suffering, you’re in the fire…please know that a loving GOD has you in his hands, He is refining you, he won’t take his eyes off of you. His desire is to see his image in you. When he pulls you out, you’ll be a shining example of his enduring strength, his mercy and his love and most of all his purity. GOD is the ultimate craftsman you are his work of art.
Y’all have a great day and GO
