Mark Twain said, “The man who does not read has no advantage over the man who cannot read.”
In a 5-year study, Thomas Corley discovered that successful people (millionaires) read every day, 85% of them read a minimum of two books a month. A funny thing is…they don't read for pleasure; successful people would rather be educated than entertained.
A New York Times article on CEO libraries revealed that leaders amass great libraries and each book is like a trophy of achievement. CEO’s understand it’s an opportunity to spend intimate and private time with history’s greatest leaders, teachers, thinkers, inventors, philosophers etc… What if you could get 10 hours of personal financial advice from Warren Buffett or 10 hours of business coaching from Stephen Covey? Quite frankly, reading allows us to spend time with intelligent, accomplished individuals.
The same goes for the WORD of GOD, except there is one HUGE difference. The WORD of GOD is ALIVE!!!
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
GOD's word is dynamic, it’s active, and it’s our chance to walk with, talk with, and understand the character of our GOD and Savior Jesus Christ.
The Center for Bible Engagement (CBE), along with Lifeway Research, reported that those who read their Bible 1 day a week, 2 days a week or 3 days a week would experience basically no change. However, if you read the Bible at least 4 times a week, you are :
Ø 228% more likely to share your faith with others.
Ø 407% more likely to memorize scripture.
Ø 231% more likely to disciple others.
Ø 30% less likely to struggle with loneliness.
Ø 59% less likely to view pornography.
Ø 60% less likely to feel spiritually stagnant
How rich could we be in Spirit by staying in GOD's word daily? Y’all have a great day and GOD bless you.
