Hope is the greatest strategy

There is a very popular business book, a New York Times Best Seller by Rick Page. He wrote a book called Hope is not a strategy.  I take issue with that book title, so much so that I would never read the book. With all the heartache and heartbreak this world freely dumps on us, HOPE is one of our greatest strategies.

This past weekend we celebrated Easter. This day represents the essence of the HOPE we find in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ…2000+ years ago 3 men hung on their crosses…2 thieves and an innocent man.  With certain death knocking on the door, one thief shouted insults at the innocent man on the middle cross while the other thief asked to be remembered. Even at the end of his life, the second thief BELIEVED in Christ, CONFESSED his guilt, asked for MERCY, and he was guaranteed PARADISE. Even in the end he had HOPE. The HOPE that Christ offers is Eternal Life.

Romans 9:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

I know it can be scary and you may have to take that first step ALONE, but I promise you, the light at the end of the tunnel is not a train, it is a mighty savior coming to rescue you.

The book of Proverbs 13:12 says “HOPE deferred makes the heart sick but a longing fulfilled is the TREE of LIFE”.  

If we defer HOPE, it can affect us physically, mentally, spiritually and eternally. It also says that a longing fulfilled is the TREE of LIFE. It’s our hopes and dreams, aspirations and our eternal destiny. Don’t defer the HOPE, lean into it with all you got. 

There was a time in my life that I didn’t have the HOPE or FAITH to press on and I had to take that step. If you find yourself in that place, Catherine and I have your back…We will pray for you, we’ll pray with you.
