Exceeding Building Standards

Frank Lloyd Wright once said “An idea is salvation by imagination.”  He is the second most recognized name in architecture. He designed some of the world’s most iconic structures.

Any architect knows the exterior appeal is not nearly as important as the internal infrastructure and foundation.   The architect carefully calculates all the loads, how much each floor will weigh, how much equipment might weigh, how wide the structure will be, and how tall the building will be. They even test the soil for compaction ratios. These factors help determine the necessary thickness of the foundation and the size and depth of the steel and concrete footers. Additionally, an infrastructure may be based on historical records/events and known demographic elements.  For example,  In California, they build to withstand earthquakes, but in Florida, they build to withstand hurricanes. An architect might also design a 5-story building with a 10-story infrastructure so that it has the internal strength for future growth.   

The greatest architect, however, is the Lord himself. When he created you, he calculated every load you would ever need to carry.  He saw every storm you would weather,  and he architected exactly what you could/would be able to endure. He knew the pressures you would face, he knew the loss you would live through, he knew the pain that would hurt, and he measured the strength you would need to survive. He made sure your footings were solid and driven deep into the bedrock.  He filled you with courage and character to withstand the pressures of life. He thickened your foundation to handle the weight of the world. GOD's calculations are always correct, and he always exceeds building standards. 

Matthew 7:24-27 tells the story of the man who built his house on the ROCK vs the man who built his house on the SAND. When the storms came, one house withstood and the other house had a great crash.

Remember, you are a 5-story building built on the rock with a 10-story infrastructure.  Not only are you designed to endure, but you are designed for future growth.  Don’t doubt your design or construction, your architect (Almighty GOD) doesn’t make mistakes!!!
