The light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing and stopped at the crosswalk. The tailgating woman behind him was furious. She was screaming obscenities out the window, honking the horn and flipping him the bird. All because she missed her chance to get through the intersection.
In mid rant, she noticed the policeman approaching her car with his weapon drawn. The officer ordered her out of the car with her hands up. He cuffed her, took her to the police station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed and placed in a holding cell.
After a couple of hours, she was released and the policeman profusely apologized for arresting her. He said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing the horn, giving that guy the finger and cussing out the window.
At the same time, I noticed the 'What Would Jesus Do' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday-School' license plate holder, and the chrome-plated Christian Fish Emblem on the trunk, so naturally I assumed you had stolen the car.
I have heard it said that people will forgive your mistakes but they will never forgive your hypocrisy. People are watching your every move. Walk the walk, you’ve been set aside as the shining example, you may be the only intersection light they see today. Be their reason for success not their excuse for failure.
From Mark Hanley’s Graystone devotional Philippians 2 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. https://www.graystonechurch.com/media/t8bcffd/week-7-day-1
Y’all have a great day and GOD bless you.
